Why do people like putting the wrong badge on their cars.

I saw a Celica with an M Power badge on the back and I asked the owner why it was there. He tried to play it off like I didn't know what an M badge was and was like "It is a performance badge for a performance car" to which I replied "yeah BMW cars". He then called me a "hater" got in his car and left. So yeah I am genuinely confused.

As I found out when my sister bought me a AMG track day, non car people don't get performance badges so who are they trying to impress?

I wish I had them, the back was covered in all manner of stickers.

But I was walking our giant breed dog with diarrhea into the vet at the time, so this is all I had time for!
